And The 2025 American Music Awards Nominees Are...

Kendrick Lamar leads the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs) with 10 nominations, while Post Malone follows closely with eight.

Lamar’s nominations include Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for GNX, Song of the Year for “Not Like Us,” and three nods in Favorite Hip-Hop Song for “Like That” (with Future and Metro Boomin), “Not Like Us,” and “Luther” (with SZA). 

If Lamar wins all eight categories he’s eligible for, he could tie Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most AMAs won in a single year. His nominations reflect his dominant year, marked by GNX debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and his high-profile feud with Drake, where “Not Like Us” became a cultural moment, earning Grammy recognition.

Post Malone’s eight nominations span genres, showcasing his versatility. He’s up for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for F-1 Trillion, Song of the Year for “I Had Some Help” (with Morgan Wallen), and categories like Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Country Album, marking his first AMA country nods. Malone, previously honored in rap/hip-hop and pop/rock, could win in a third genre, bolstered by his successful Coachella headlining and F-1 Trillion’s commercial success.

Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey each earned seven nominations, with Roan notably being the only artist nominated in all three new AMA categories: Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Social Song of the Year. Taylor Swift, the AMAs’ most-awarded artist with 40 wins, has six nominations, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for The Tortured Poets Department. 

The nominations, announced on April 23, 2025, are based on Billboard chart data (streaming, sales, airplay, and tour grosses). The fan-voted awards, hosted by Jennifer Lopez, will air live from Las Vegas on May 26, 2025, on CBS and Paramount+. Voting is open at VoteAMAs.com and the AMAs’ Instagram
