LA Radio: Family Feud Erupts Over Matt Pinfield Conservatorship

The family of Matt Pinfield, the Los Angeles radio host and former MTV VJ who suffered a massive stroke that left him hospitalized in January — is involved in a legal battle over his conservatorship.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Pinfield's 38-year-old daughter Jessica Pinfield has filed for conservatorship of her father, 63.

But his girlfriend Kara Brown and his brother Glenn Pinfield are now alleging that Jessica is attempting to isolate Matt from the rest of his family. TMZ was the first to report news of the family at odds.

The opposition filing — which was filed to a Superior Court in Los Angeles by attorneys for Brown and Glenn on Friday, Feb. 7 — states that Jessica filed for conservatorship soon after Matt was admitted to the hospital on Jan. 6. Glenn and Brown asked a Los Angeles County judge to deny Jessica's petition for conservatorship.

Jessica, who had argued in her original filing that she worried that Brown had taken control of Matt's bank accounts and apartment, wanted to file for conservatorship to protect his property and accounts. She also said that her father was “incompetent to make decisions” due to his current health conditions following his stroke.

Glenn and Brown claim that Brown — who stated she lived with Matt for two years and has been dating him for three years — had been by his side since the day he was admitted to the hospital after a fall, and that he was "lucid and engaged — both with me and with hospital staff" when he designated Brown as his emergency contact and personal representative.
