R.I.P.: Louie Louie, Longtime Topeka Radio Personality

WREN Radio announced Louie, full name Lou Constantino, died in his sleep Thursday morning after complications from a stroke.

Louie spent decades on various radio stations around Kansas, including in Topeka and Kansas City.

13 NEWS was able to catch up with Louie in 2021, just a couple of years after he had returned to radio in 2019 by way of WREN.

Lou Constantino, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., has been a radio disc jockey for more than 50 years. Much of that time has found him playing hits from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s at Topeka-area radio stations.

Louie Louie got his start in radio more than a half-century ago in the south-central Kansas town of Pratt. He’s been on several stations in Topeka, among them WIBW-AM, WREN-AM and Oldies 99.3, an FM station he says he helped start in the 1990s. He also was on the air at WHB-AM in Kansas City.
