TV Ratings: FNC Sees Weekly Gains with Primetime Viewers


  • CNN Marks Lowest Weekend Total Day 25-54 Demo with Just 52,000 Viewers
During the week of June 3-9, FOX News Channel (FNC) was the top network in all of basic cable with both primetime and total day viewers for the first time since the week of March 15th, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. 

In primetime (8-11 PM/ET), FNC earned 2,144,000 viewers, 216,000 in the 25-54 demo commanding all of cable with viewers. In total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1.3 million viewers and 146,000 in the 25-54 demo, outpacing all of cable with viewers. 

FNC saw week-over-week gains with primetime viewers marking its best week in primetime in over three months. Notably, the network commanded 57% of the cable news share with viewers in primetime and 53% with total day viewers while also securing 83 of the top 100 cable news telecasts for the week. 

Additionally, CNN marked its lowest weekend total day 25-54 demo since 1997 with just 52,000 viewers.The Five averaged 3.2 million viewers and 270,000 in the 25-54 demo, making it the most-watched show in cable news. 



At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2.1 million viewers and 177,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle at 7 PM/ET scored 2.1 million viewers and 190,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 8 PM/ET, Jesse Watters Primetime was the most-watched primetime program in cable news, delivering 2.9 million viewers and 265,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.5 million viewers and 249,000 with A25-54. At 11 PM/ET, FOX News @ Night secured 1.3 million viewers and 171,000 in the 25-54 demo.At 10 PM/ET, FNC’s late-night offering Gutfeld! averaged 2,380,000 viewers and 304,000 in the 25-54 demo, making it the most-watched cable news program in the younger demo.

Gutfeld! topped all of the broadcast competition with viewers outpacing ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (1,839,000 P2+), CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (1,805,000 P2+) and NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (1,171,000 P2+).FNC’s daytime lineup continued to surpass broadcast programs during the week.

  • Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,638,000 P2+), America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,562,000 P2+)
  •  America Reports (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 1,540,000 P2+)
  • The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,528,000 P2+)
  • The Story (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 1,509,000 P2+) 
  • All shows bested ABC’s GMA3 (1,331,000 P2+), NBC’s Today with Hoda and Jenna (1,294,000 P2+) and CBS’ The Talk (1,254,000 P2+). 

On Saturday, Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) was the most-watched show in primetime with 1,442,000 viewers. FOX & Friends Weekend (weekends 6-10 AM/ET) was the top show in the 25-54 demo with 125,000 viewers. The Big Weekend Show (Saturday 7 PM/ET) posted 1.2 million viewers and 115,000 in the 25-54 demo. Cavuto Live (Saturday, 10 AM/ET) nabbed 1.2 million viewers and 120,000 in the 25-54 demo.

On Sunday, Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) was the most-watched show of the weekend with 1,464,000 viewers. Sunday Morning Futures was the top show of the day in the 25-54 demo with 153,000 viewers. Sunday Night in America (Sunday, 9 PM/ET) commanded 1.4 million viewers and 99,000 in the 25-54 demo. MediaBuzz (Sunday, 11 AM/ET) nabbed 1.1 million viewers and 126,000 in the 25-54 demo.
