The Daily Wire Lands Six Programs in Top 20 Right Wing Podcasts

The Daily Wire podcast network dominated TheRighting’s exclusive rankings of the top right wing podcasts for the first quarter based on an analysis of data from the podcast app Castbox. Altogether, six shows from The Daily Wire landed in TheRighting’s top 20 based on subscriber numbers, more than any other right wing media outlet. Two shows from The Daily Wire – “The Ben Shapiro Show” and “The Jordan Peterson Podcast” – ranked one and two respectively. The other programs were “The Matt Walsh Show” (ranked #10), “The Michael Knowles Show” (#Q14), “Morning Wire” (#15), and “The Andrew Klavan Show” (#17).

Q1 2024 TO Q4 2023 COMPARISON

“The Ben Shapiro Show” added the most new subscribers since the end of 2023, padding its lead as the right wing podcast with the most subscribers. The show gained 13,322 subscribers in the first quarter, far more than any other right wing podcast. It ended 2024’s first quarter with more than half a million subscribers on the Castbox platform.

Q1 2024 TO Q1 2023 COMPARISON

While growth for ‘The Matt Walsh Show’ slowed significantly in the first quarter, the program still tallied the highest year-over-year (YOY) percentage growth of any right wing podcast (96%). “The Ben Shapiro Show” had 64,220 more subscribers at the end of the first quarter compared to March 31, 2023. No other right wing podcast came close. Four other right wing podcasts registered five-digit gains in the number of subscribers over the 12-month period: “The Jordan Peterson Podcast” (26,472), “The Matt Walsh Show” (26,274), “The Megyn Kelly Show” (16,753), and “The Dan Bongino Show” (11,632).

“The 2022 June release of Matt Walsh’s controversial anti-trans documentary ‘What Is a Woman?’ drove interest and subscriptions to his podcast,” said Howard Polskin, president of TheRighting. “That helped make his daily program the fastest-growing podcast of 2023. Unless there’s dramatic subscriber growth later in the year, I would expect his large year-over-year increases to diminish substantially in the third and fourth quarters. Meanwhile, ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ is consistently adding new subscribers quarter-to-quarter. ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ is the buzziest right wing podcast.
