Philly Radio: Jaxon Returns To The Market On WRFF

WRFF ALT 104.5
has announced veteran radio personality Paul Jaxon to host "Post-Modern Radio 104.5," a throwback show airing weekdays 12-1pm on the iHeartMedia Alternative outlet. Jaxon previously worked at Beasley crosstown Rock WMMR-FM and is also morning host at iHeartMedia's Classic Rock WBIG-FM Big 100 in Washington, DC.

Here’s the scoop: iHeartMedia Alternative “Alt 104.5” WRFF Philadelphia is shaking things up with a revamped on-air lineup.

Let’s break it down:

  • Amber Miller, the Assistant Program Director, is moving from nights back to her former midday timeslot. She’ll be hosting a split show from 10 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 3 pm.
  • Jaxon himself is taking the reins during the lunch hour. Tune in to “Post-Modern Radio, 104.5” every weekday from 12 pm to 1 pm. What’s the vibe? It’s all about Alternative music from the late 1980s through the early 2000s.
  • Jammin Jessie Sabella, who has been a fixture at the station, is moving from middays to afternoons.
  • Mike Jones, the afternoon host since 2012, will now be rocking the evening slot from 7 pm to 12 am.

Jaxon is no stranger to Philly. In fact, he spent 18 years hosting afternoons on Rock 93.3 WMMR from 2004 until October 2022. Before that, he co-hosted mornings on 101.7 WFNX Boston in the Alternative scene. Jaxon is also the morning host at iHeart Classic Rock “Big 100” WBIG-FM in Washington, DC.

“Post-Modern Radio” promises to be a nostalgic journey for enthusiasts of Philadelphia’s rich alternative music heritage. Expect a curated playlist peppered with artist stories and an exploration of the socio-cultural impact of this pivotal era in music history. 📻

"We're all incredibly excited to welcome Jaxon back home to Philly and into the ALT 104.5 team," said iHeartMedia Philadelphia Program Director Mike Kaplan. "He's got a proven track record of captivating audiences and a pure desire for the music and all things Philadelphia. Welcome home Jaxon."

"I am beyond thrilled to be joining the incredibly talented team at Alt 104.5 in my beloved home of Philadelphia," added Jaxon. "I've been a fan of 104.5 since their inception. I want to extend my gratitude to the iHeart team for their unwavering support in making this homecoming a reality. Philly, I've missed you terribly and I can't wait to get started."

  1. This Sucks. I like Jaxon but why not move Jammin Jessie to Nights, leave Mike Jones in the Afternoon and have Jaxon on for more than an hour, give him a 2 hour Show and Amber Miller a 3 hour Show.
