Deborah Roberts Joins BFoA Line-up For Golden Mic Gala


Deborah Roberts, award-winning ABC News correspondent, co-anchor of the prestigious news magazine “20/20”, and a member of the Broadcasters Foundation of America Board of Directors, will honor Deborah Norville as this year’s recipient of the Edward F. McLaughlin Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Award will be presented to Norville during the Golden Mic gala and fundraiser on March 4 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.

“I’m looking forward to being a part of this well-deserved recognition of Deborah’s outstanding work as a broadcast journalist.” said Roberts.

“Deborah is one of the most respected journalists in broadcasting, and I am thrilled that she is going to be a part of this exciting program,” said Norville. “She is a colleague and a friend, and I am honored that she will be there with me.”

Roberts is a media veteran who has traveled the world for her reporting. Her in-depth coverage of current events has earned her a Peabody Award for the “20/20” special “Say Her Name: Breonna Taylor.” She has been awarded multiple Emmy® Awards for international and national coverage of world events, including the AIDS crisis in Africa and maternal mortality in Bangladesh. She also serves as a substitute anchor for “Good Morning America” as well as a guest co-host on “The View.”
