Plug Pulled On Barstool Radio

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has pulled the plug on Barstool Radio on Monday, and explained that he wasn’t happy with hosts Kelly Keegs and Francis Ellis.

Now, he’s replacing — at least part-time — the pair with himself and fellow Barstool personalities, Kirk Minihane and and Ryan Whitney.

“Breaking – A new once a week Barstool Radio/DPS show will be launching soon hosted by @kirkmin with myself and @ryanwhitney6,” Portnoy posted Tuesday on X. “All parties have committed to 42 weeks a year or until somebody quits the company.”

Portnoy explained on the “Barstool Rundown” that he “had no choice but to cancel” Barstool Radio due to Keegs and Francis spending most of the episode talking about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, instead of discussing Keegs’ feud with fellow Barstool employee, Ohio’s Tate.

“These two might be the most tone deaf, brain dead, idiotic…,” Portnoy said. “Francis and Kelly are the wrong people. Go back to blogging.”

Keegs and Ohio’s Tate were engulfed in a social media feud last week, when they dragged each other in blog posts on Barstool Sports’ website and various posts on X.  Keegs said Ohio’s Tate questioned her work ethic when he said she hasn’t blogged on Fridays, and wasn’t happy about her comments about her makeup.

“I don’t know if Kelly Keegs was joking about makeup and not being here on Fridays,” Portnoy said while explaining the situation on the Barstool Rundown. “I didn’t even know she doesn’t show up on Fridays.

“She just does not blog from home, so canceled. Those two aren’t cut out for it … Go back to blogging or doing whatever. You’re not cut out for Barstool Radio, you’ll never be back on it. You’re out.”

Keegs addressed the cancellation and called it a sad situation. In a follow-up post, Keegs wrote: “Sad. I wanted to turn Barstool Radio into something fun and positive for us all. Everyone else just wants to stay at each other’s throats nonstop. I’m not that girl. I’ve got one weekly fight in me, at best. Sounds like a job for @kirkmin.”
