Wake-Up Call: Trump Promises 'Big Announcement' Next Week

Donald Trump said on the eve of US midterm elections that he would be making a “big announcement” next week, all but confirming his widely anticipated third White House bid that he’s been teasing for weeks.  “I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago,” he said at a Monday night rally ostensibly for Republican US Senate candidate JD Vance in Dayton, Ohio. “We want nothing to distract from the importance of tomorrow.”  But Vance, one of Trump’s endorsed candidates in key battleground states, took the stage for only a small fraction of Trump’s nearly 100-minute rally, where he painted a picture of an American decline that only he could salvage.

The former president’s appearance Monday night played into heightened attention around a possible declaration of his 2024 plans. Much of that intrigue has been stoked by Trump himself, who urged his followers on Sunday to “stay tuned” to his appearance on behalf of Vance — one of dozens of GOP midterm candidates who has received his endorsement.

➤DeSANTIS WARNED TO STAY IN FLORIDA: Donald Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba issued a stern warning to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday night at the former president’s rally in Dayton, Ohio, telling the unofficial 2024 Republican presidential contender to stand down. “DeSantis is DeSantis because of Trump,” Habba said on the pro-Trump YouTube channel Right Side Broadcasting Network. “He needs to stay in Florida,” she added. To that, fellow Trump lawyer and RSBN contributor Christina Bobb responded: “100% percent.” Habba proceeded to double down, stating: “Just stay where you are. You are doing a great job in Florida.”

➤REPUBLICAN SENATOR TOM COTTON DECIDES AGAINST 2024 PRESIDENTIAL BID: Republican Sen. The woman, Yareni Rios-Gonzalez, who was arrested after an alleged road rage incident involving a gun, was also charged with felony menacing.  Of the two police officers, Steinke faces the most serious charges. The 1st is attempted manslaughter and 2nd is second-degree assault, also both would be considered felonies.

Nancy Pelosi
➤NANCY TALKS: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the attack on her husband, Paul, would be a factor in deciding her political future, and expressed dismay that Donald Trump and others, including Elon Musk, had cast doubt on the attack. “You see what the reaction is on the other side to this, to make a joke of it, and really that is traumatizing, too,” Pelosi said in an interview with CNN on Monday night. Shortly after the interview was broadcast, Trump lashed out at Pelosi during a rally in Ohio for Republican candidates, calling her “an animal.”  “They’ll say ‘what a horrible thing he said about Nancy.’ She impeached me twice for nothing.” Pelosi said that the assault on Paul Pelosi in the couple’s San Francisco home by an intruder who the authorities say was looking for her, had “the same root, disinformation and the rest” that inspired the insurrection by Trump supporters at the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Pre-pandemic, inpatient eating-disorder admissions were increasing by 0.7% per month, compared to 7.2% per month after the onset of the pandemic. The pandemic correlated with an increase in the number of inpatient and outpatient adolescents and young adults seeking treatment for eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, avoidant food intake disorder, and binge eating disorder. The study suggests this could be due to "uncertainty about the future, disruptions in daily routines, inconsistent access to food, increased time spent in triggering environments, influence from the media and changes in access to treatment."
