Russell Rush, long-time afternoon radio host on San Antonio’s KXXM 96.1 Now, has died, according to his wife. He was 44.
In June of 2019, he announced he was battling T-Cell Lymphoma. Earlier in the week, Rush's wife Saralyn shared he had entered home hospice care.
His wife shared on Facebook Friday that Rush had since passed.
Rush has been a recognizable voice in San Antonio for fourteen years.

In 2008, the San Antonio Media Alliance named him “Radio Personality of the Year," according to an online bio. He was also heavily involved with SIDS, Susan G. Komen, Make-A-Wish and several other community organizations.
