Radio videographer Art Vuolo reports that around 7:30 am this morning, while in Hospice care in West Palm Beach, FL, radio lost one of its all-time multi-talented greats, Mark Driscoll.
He was 72-yers-old according to Jockline Daily.
Driscoll moved, within the last year, from his Hollywood, CA digs to Pompano Beach, FL where he set up shop according to close friend, and radio pal, Bill Hennes. He suffered a bad fall about a month ago, and experienced related health issues ever since. Right up until the end he had a wicked sense of humor and would appreciate the description “Driscoll always hit the Mark!” He was only 72. Mark, whose passing was also confirmed by his brother
He was a great top 40 jock at a plethora of stations, an acclaimed program director and in recent years, listed among the best voice-over talents in the business. His unique, semi-gravely delivery would be instantly recognizable by most people in the radio industry.
Driscoll, an Oklahoma native, started his broadcast career as a teen, getting his start in Texas with the great Gordon McLendon nearly 50 years ago. By his early 20’s, he had already worked in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston and Washington, DC.

His programming career began in 1974. He was the image voice for heritage stations: Kiss 108 Boston, WPLJ New York, Y100 Miami, WKQI Detroit, KIIS in LA and countless others! He was also a fixture at numerous radio confabs, like those memorable R&R’s, the Bobby Poe, Gavin and NAB Radio Shows. Mark created outstanding VO for several of those Art Vuolo video channels at confabs and promo’s for Joel Denver’s Worldwide Radio Summits and Morning Show Boot Camp.
