Former WTMX 1019 FM morning personality Eric Ferguson, a Radio Hall of Famer who led his popular “Eric in the Morning” program for 25 years before leaving the station on Oct. 29, sold his five-bedroom farmhouse-style house in Hinsdale Monday for $1.35 million, reports The Chicago Tribune.
Ferguson, 54, placed the house on the market for $1.5 million on July 30, before the story broke the news in September that a former assistant producer had sued him earlier in the year alleging that he had coerced sexual favors from her and then had retaliated against her. More allegations of misconduct and abusive behavior followed from three other women, and Ferguson was taken off the air in early October.
In Hinsdale, Ferguson paid $1.4 million through a land trust in November 2019 for the house, although the recorded sale amount was $1.3 million. The remaining $115,000 of the purchase price was classified as personal property, which in most cases refers to the buyer’s acquisition from the seller of items like furniture.
Built in 2016, the house has 4 ½ bathrooms, a family room with a fireplace, a finished basement with a wet bar and a recreation area, a primary bedroom suite with a walk-in closet, and a kitchen with a large center island, quartz countertops, designer lighting and stainless steel appliances, including a wine refrigerator in the butler’s pantry.
Ferguson and his former wife, Jennifer, from whom he divorced in 2020.
The house that Ferguson just sold had a $20,654 property tax bill in the 2020 tax year.
