D-C Radio: Kane OUT At WIHT, iHM, Premiere Mum

Peter Deibler aka Kane
D.C. Top 40 radio station WIHT HOT 99.5 has removed "The Kane Show" from its on-air schedule. The syndicated Kane Morning Show has been dropped by Premiere Radio Network.

Starting Monday, "Your Morning Show" will air weekdays on Hot 99.5 from 5 - 10 a.m., and Saturdays from 6 - 10 a.m. According to the show's Twitter account, Intern John, Riley Couture and Radio Rose will host the newly-branded program.

iHeart Media, which owns HOT 99.5, could not be reached for comment Saturday evening. WJLA-TV7 also contacted Kane, whose legal name is Peter Deibler, on Twitter, but did not receive an immediate reply.

Deibler last posted to his Twitter account on April 9. The tweet tagged Radio Rose and included a link to a Cosmopolitan article about Bob Ross' full catalog of 403 painting episodes streaming on YouTube. Kane's professional Twitter account has just over 236,000 followers.

On Saturday, a former female personality on "The Kane Show" posted an emotional appeal on Instagram, imploring iHeart Media to be honest and forthcoming about what happened.

In 2006, "The Kane Show" hit the FM dial in D.C. For years, it has been among the DMV's most-listened-to morning radio programs, playing the latest hits and popular segments like War of The Roses.

Although co-hosts, including Sarah Fraser, Samy K, Melanie Glazener, and Danni Starr came and went, Kane remained a constant, comforting voice for thousands of people driving to work or dropping the kids off at school. The show, which was syndicated in numerous cities across the U.S., broadcasted from the iHeart Radio studios located at 1801 Rockville Pike in Rockville.

In May 2016, Deibler was charged with second-degree assault. His then estranged wife, Natasha Deibler, who requested that charges be filed, claimed the radio host had tossed her against a wall at his luxury, high-rise apartment in North Bethesda.

Natasha Deibler was picking up the couple's two young children at the time, and reportedly suffered a sprained knee, head injury, and a black eye. In court, both accused each other of substance abuse and unspecified erratic behavior. Prosecutors ultimately dropped the criminal case, which has since been expunged from public court records.
