Noelle LaCharite Named VP/Digital Technology AT NPR

NPR Chief Digital Officer Thomas Hjelm has announced that Noelle LaCharite will join NPR as Vice President of Digital Technology in November.

In this new role, LaCharite will lead NPR Digital Media's team of more than 50 technologists and engineers, and will set the architectural vision and support for NPR's digital platforms, services, and applications, support product strategy and business objectives, and drive innovation.

For more than 20 years, LaCharite has been a trainer, architect and transformer with some of the largest tech companies in the world, working on some of the most innovative projects of our time, from conversational AI to cloud transformation. Her most recent experience came at Microsoft, where she drove the development of applied AI technologies from inception through deployment.

In 2015, she co-founded the AI Leadership Institute, a group that facilitates workshops and strategy sessions for executives across a range of industries. She additionally spent four years at Amazon, where she hired and managed the team charged with developing and deploying natural language understanding models for Alexa.

Previously, Noelle spent more than 15 years in technology roles at IBM, Redhat and VMWare.
LaCharite notes, "As a longtime NPR fan, I am excited to join this incredible team and help write a new chapter in NPR's rich technical history. I am honored to bring my expertise and passion to this incredible mission and I am looking forward to the opportunity that awaits."
