BFA Celeb Golf Outing Raises $250K+ To Help Broadcasters

The Broadcasters Foundation of America raised over $250,000 this week to help broadcasters in need during its 2019 Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, NY.

More than 175 broadcasters and celebrities turned out to help support broadcasters who have experienced terrible loss due to illness or unforeseen disaster. Since its inception, the annual fundraising event has generated more than $5 million for financially afflicted broadcasters and their families.

“The money raised from yesterday’s event comes at a time when we are helping more broadcasters and their families than ever before,” stated Jim Thompson, President of the Broadcasters Foundation. 

“This year, we will distribute $1.5 million in aid to those in our industry who need it most,” Thompson added. “The Celebrity Golf Tournament is one of our biggest fundraisers, and we are grateful to our sponsors and players.”

The Broadcasters Foundation of America has distributed millions of dollars in aid to broadcasters who have lost their livelihood through a catastrophic event, debilitating disease or unforeseen tragedy.
