CNN Drops Trump Coverage

President Trump officially kicked off his re-election campaign Tuesday with an evening rally before thousands of people in Orlando's Amway Center.

Trump repeated many familiar complaints and accusations from rallies he has regularly held since his election, including blasting the media, the, quote, "illegal witch hunt," and Hillary Clinton, his 2016 opponent.

He also declared to the crowd that Democrats are "radical" and "unhinged" and, quote, "want to destroy you and they want to destroy our country as we know it." Trump said that his re-election slogan will be "Keep America Great," following on his original "Make America Great Again" slogan, and contended that he'd made good on his 2016 promises.

Shortly after Trump began his Tuesday campaign kickoff rally, the audience began chanting "CNN sucks."

The network had been airing the rally until the chant, at which point they cut away, reports The Washington Examiner.

"This was a defining moment in America history," Trump said referring to his 2015 campaign announcement. "Ask them right there," pointing to the media in the back.

The crowd then began chanting "CNN sucks."

"All right. We’ve been watching the president kick off his reelection bid. He’s been on stage for about six minutes. Within two minutes he did talk about the economy, within four minutes it was attacks on the media," CNN's John Berman said.

MSNBC did not air the speech at all.
