Orlando Radio: WONQ Launches Salsa VIVA-FM

Q Broadcasting in Florida has launched VIVA FM, a 100% Salsa format for the Orlando market.

It will be carried on a simulcast/combo of WONQ 1030 AM and Translator W258DD 99.5 FM, with coverage of Orange, Osceola, Brevard, Polk, and parts of Volusia, as well as digital platforms.

COO/VP and PD  of Q Broadcasting George Mier stated: “This format has been heavily researched and a winner in selected markets over the years. A few stations have dabbled with it, but besides playing some Hits, I believe many have not achieved the format’s fullest potential, principally for failing to fully commit and understand the audience and essence of the format, beyond the music.
