Mobile Radio: Cumulus Promotes Jimmy Steele

Cumulus Media announces that it has named radio programming veteran Jimmy Steele as Program Director for the Gulf Coast’s hit music station WABD 97.5 FM, in Mobile, AL.

He fills the position held by  Sid Kelly, who is moving to WYRG Energy 93.9 in Lawrence/Indianapolis IN as PD.

Steele will continue in his current roles as Operations Manager, Cumulus Media-Mobile, and Midday On-Air Personality for WABD. He also serves Cumulus Media-Mobile as Program Director of WXQW-AM. He takes the WABD programming reins from Sid Kelly, who moves to Cumulus Media-Indianapolis as Program Director of WYRG.

Steele has over 30 years’ experience as a radio programming professional, and joined Cumulus last June. He has programmed for several iHeart stations including in San Diego and served Saga Communications in Columbus, OH, as Operations Director/Brand Manager.
