NYC Radio: Mike Francesa Signs Off At WFAN

Sports radio legend Mike Francesa bid the WFAN 660 AM & 101.9 FM audience he entertained for 30 years farewell Friday with one last show.

The callers who lit up the airwaves since 1987 expressed their gratitude and admiration for Francesa, who took one final bow before beginning the next chapter of his illustrious career.

“Thirty years of this has been a blessing,” Francesa said during his final monologue. “It’s been a gift. It’s more than anybody could’ve ever hoped for. I’ve had the best job in the world.”

He closed out his show by thanking his fans.

“More than anything else going out, I want to thank you guys — the listeners, the audience — because without you, we don’t last a week, we don’t last a month,” Francesa said. “So what I’d like to say to you is I’ll miss you, I thank you, and from the bottom of my heart, I love you. Goodbye.”
