San Antonio Radio: KTKR Extends UTSA Broadcast Deal

The University of Texas at San Antonio and its multimedia rights holder, Learfield’s Roadrunners Sports Properties, reached an agreement with iHeartMedia to extend its broadcast deal.

As part of the pact, iHeart’s San Antonio sportstalk radio station KTKR Ticket 760 AM will air all UTSA football games this season. It will also broadcast a weekly coach’s show featuring Roadrunners head football coach Frank Wilson.

UTSA’s men’s basketball program will also get more exposure. Under the extended agreement, iHeart will broadcast all Roadrunners hoops games either on Ticket 760 or on 92.5 FM. The media giant, which was born in San Antonio as Clear Channel Communications, will also air a weekly show featuring UTSA head basketball coach Steve Henson.

“This agreement will only help grow our visibility within the San Antonio community and beyond,” said Lynn Hickey, associate vice president and director of athletics for UTSA.
