Nashville Radio: John Shomby Adds PD Duties For WKDF

Cumulus Media announces that it has promoted John Shomby to Program Director of WKDF NASH FM 103.3 in Nashville; in addition to the NASH Director of Programming position he has held with Cumulus Media for the past year and half.

Charlie Cook continues as VP/Country for Cumulus Media as well as the VP of Operations for Cumulus Media-Nashville with continued oversight of WKDF, and as the Program Director for NASH ICON (WSM 95.5 FM).

Shomby has more than 43 years’ experience in radio programming and management. He joined Cumulus Media in February 2016 as the NASH Director of Programming based in Nashville. Prior to that, he was with Max Media Hampton Roads where he was Operations Manager for their five-station cluster. Shomby also held positions with KLIF Radio, KAAM/KZPS in Dallas and Cumulus’s seven-station cluster in Augusta.

Cook said: “John has done a superb job of managing the launch of morning show Ty, Kelly and Chuck on the NASH brand as well as overseeing the nationally syndicated shows NASH Nights Live and The Blair Garner Show, heard locally on WKDF in Nashville. This new position is a logical next step as we continue to grow our country platform."
