Austin Radio: Craig Way EXITS KVET-AM For KOKE-FM

Longtime Texas radio voice Craig Way is leaving KVET 1300 AM The Zone and joining KOKE 104.9 FM The Horn, the flagship station for UT athletics.

The move was announced by Austin Radio Network officials. Way will start Feb. 1.

According to a statement, Way will become ARN’s sports director for all network stations. He will remain the UT play-by-play commentator for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

Way, UT’s lead radio broadcaster since 2001, has been a longtime voice at KVET-AM and hosted an afternoon talk show. It’s unclear whether he will host a daily show on The Horn, according to
hookem.com.

After ARN won the broadcasting rights away from iHeartMedia, Texas Longhorns football was broadcast on eight local radio stations, including two in Spanish, last fall as part of ARN’s reach.
