Two Execs OUT At Fox News

Michael Clemente has been axed at Fox News, where he had overseen the specials and longform division only since April. Also out is his No. 2, Peter Boyer.

The LA Times reports Michael Clemente, an executive vice president in charge of long-form programming, was shown the door on Monday, an executive at Fox News parent 21st Century Fox confirmed.

The departure is unrelated to the company’s internal investigation into sexual harassment allegations against Ailes that were made by former anchor Gretchen Carlson. Ailes stepped down Thursday amid the charges, giving up the reins of the cable news channel to 21st Century Fox Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch.

Fox News Senior Executive Vice President Bill Shine, part of the team running the operation under Murdoch, is said to have made the call on Clemente, who was demoted in April.

Deadline.com is reporting Boyer had joined FNC in ’12. Their last day was today. The division, however, had not been shuttered and it’s expected a replacement for Clemente will be named.

Meanwhile, Bill Shine still tops most Likely To Replace Ailes lists, when Rupert Murdoch steps back from interim chairman.
