Atlanta Radio: Talker Michael Graham Exiting WYAY

After two years, conservative talk show host Michael Graham is leaving NewsRadio WYAY 106.7 FM, according to Altanta media writer Rodney Ho at ajc.com.

His final day is May 27.  His show “The Natural Truth,” heard from 9 a.m. to noon weekdays, has pulled in modest ratings since management decided to add more talk voices to what had been an all-news operation.

NewsRadio 106.7 has struggled to make a mark in Atlanta since it debuted in 2012. As a whole, the station  pulled in just a 1.2 share in April, its worst performance since May of last year. It was tied for 22nd with non-commercial jazz station 91.9/WCLK-FM and new classic hip-hop station Boom 97.5/102.9.

Graham posted on his Facebook page:
Sometimes you get “an offer you can’t refuse” that DOESN’T involve horse heads in your bedding or Corey Lewandowski lurking outside your hotel room. Not long ago, I got one of those offers from MediaDC–the publishing company that owns The Weekly Standard, the Washington Examiner and Red Alert Politics.
After Memorial Day, I’ll be in Washington, DC–literally walking distance from the White House (and some of Michelle’s favorite vendors of handpicked, organic kale) helping create audio and video content as MediaDC’s Creative Director.
I’ll be working with some of the best political reporters and pundits in America every single day. Plus they’re giving me video equipment and unleashing me on Washington, DC (along with a very expensive liability insurance policy)
This is an incredible opportunity to move into the fast-growing world of multi-media fulltime, and it’s great news for me and my family.
