PJ Kling joins NuVoodoo Media Services As VP

NuVoodoo Media Services, a data-driven media marketing, programming and content intelligence provider serving the radio, television and newspaper industries, has announced that it has appointed media and content strategist PJ Kling to the newly created position of Vice President, Product & Business Development, effective April 1, 2016.

In his new role, Kling will serve NuVoodoo customers from soup to nuts, doing hands-on work with client projects, optimizing project impact and working on product development. He will also expand NuVoodoo’s relationships with radio stations, artists and record labels.

Kling brings to NuVoodoo over 15 years in programming and media content development and strategy. He was previously Program Director of WKQX for Cumulus Media-Chicago, and has programmed stations for iHeart Media/Clear Channel, including WLDI-FM in West Palm Beach, FL, and KKRD-FM and KZCH-FM in Wichita, KS. Kling was also Director, User Insight for Tribune Interactive.

Carolyn Gilbert, President, NuVoodoo Media Services, said: “It takes a very special person to fit in with a group that’s been together as long as we have been. When it truly sunk in that someone as experienced, smart and knowledgeable as PJ is was really available, it took no time at all to cut the deal! He complements the rest of the team perfectly – and we’re delighted that he’s coming on board to help us extend our reach. As what can be considered a ‘family’ business, PJ comes in just like a long-lost cousin! To top that, he knows the players really well, and he’s coming anyway! We are so excited.”

Mike O’Connor, Executive Vice President, Marketing, NuVoodoo Media Services, said: “PJ’s track record as a successful programmer and an architect of enduring partnerships with artists and labels speaks for itself. But what excites me most about having PJ on the team is his relentless focus on the user/customer experience, which he put on full display during his time as my right hand at the helm of Tribune Digital's Innovations division. Now, we eagerly await the PJ brand of NuVoodoo Magick!”

Kling said: “Since its inception, NuVoodoo has been focused on what’s next in research and marketing, from traditional to digital, with a focused eye on an ever-evolving audience. I experienced this first-hand as a customer over many years, and am thrilled to have the chance to be a part of NuVoodoo’s future growth. I could not be happier that Carolyn and Mike have given me this opportunity. This, as they say, fits into the category of Dream Job.”
