Baltimore Radio: News Anchor Mary Beth Marsden Exiting WBAL

Mary Beth Marsden
Longtime Baltimore broadcast journalist Mary Beth Marsden is leaving WBAL 1090 AM  after almost five years of anchoring its afternoon drivetime newscast.

Marsden, who joined WBAL in 2011, had previously been an anchorwoman at WMAR-TV (Channel 2) for 21 years. She left that job in 2009.

"It's just time," Marsden told The Baltimore Sun Sunday in a telephone interview confirming her departure.

She said her last day on-air was Friday. Her last official day at the station is March 18.

Marsden said she is not sure "what comes next" professionally.

The station is said to be considering changes in its on-air presentation and programming.

Marsden said only that her departure was "amicable."
