St. Louis Radio: The Arch Campaigned To Keep The Rams

In a “down to the wire” effort, WARH 106.5 FM The Arch took a lead role in championing the St. Louis fan’s desire to keep the Rams playing football in their hometown, and appealing to the NFL owners to keep St. Louis in the conversation.

The brainchild of the “Spencer’s Neighborhood” Morning Show, the St. Louis radio station hired a mobile LED billboard to circle the Westin Memorial City Hotel in Houston, Texas between 3:00 and 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 12th during the NFL’s owner’s meetings.

The mobile billboard carried the simple but impactful message “Keep The Rams In St. Louis #spencersneighborhood.”

“Spencer’s Neighborhood” host Spencer Graves notes, “Since before I arrived at 106.5 The Arch, the local football fans have been passionately speaking out about keeping the Rams in St. Louis. Because ‘Spencer’s Neighborhood’ is all about highlighting what is great about this city, we felt we had to take on this last-ditch effort to save professional football in St. Louis.”

Commenting on this stealthy way of getting St. Louis’ message in front of the NFL Owners, Program Director Charlie Quinn adds, “The crew at ‘Spencer’s Neighborhood’ came up with a very creative way of having our feelings represented at the Houston meetings. Our mobile billboard greeted everyone involved in the decision making process.”
Quinn adds, “Unfortunately, the NFL owners had other ideas. But we’ll all move on from this disappointment, and the station will continue to throw our full support behind St. Louis’ other professional sports organizations, including St. Louis Cardinal baseball and St. Louis Blues hockey!”
