The radio marathon featured live and recorded stories about 22 patients and their families. It was arranged in partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and CBS Radio DFW, which broadcast live from the hospital on three stations: KLUV 98.7 FM, “La Grande” KMVK 107.5 FM and NewsRadio KRLD 1080 AM.
“The incredible patients and families we serve, along with the continued generosity of the Dallas-Fort Worth community, never cease to amaze us,” said Christopher J. Durovich, president and CEO of Children’s Health. “CBS Radio DFW is one of the strongest supporters in our quest to be by the side of parents across North Texas. We are grateful for their commitment and the community as a whole as we continue to live out our mission of making life better for children.”
The radiothon started about 20 years ago, and this marked its 11th year of the collaboration with CBS Radio, said Children’s Health spokeswoman Heidi Cannella.
“Even after all these years of working with the amazing team at Children’s Health on this incredible effort, we continue to be overwhelmed by the response of our listeners, “ said Brian Purdy, senior vice president and market manager for CBS Radio DFW. “They open their hearts and their wallets with one purpose: to help the next generation of North Texans live life to the fullest. We can’t imagine a better gift.”
A total of 1,525 people made donations over the two-day radiothon. FairLease was the presenting sponsor.
