Benztown Adds Butera, Whyte To Stable of Voices

Rachel Butera
Benztown has announced that it has signed two prominent character voiceover actors, Rachel Butera and Scott Whyte, to do promos and celebrity impersonations for their radio imaging and production library customers.

Benztown is now making these distinctive voice talents available to radio stations for cash or barter.

Butera was first recognized as a female impressionist when she won $5,000 in the Howard Stern Impressions Contest. She continues to provide character voices for the show, and recently showcased celebrity impressions such as Wanda Sykes, Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Cyndi Lauper, Joan Rivers, and more on Season 9 of America's Got Talent. From impressions on the Raw Dog Comedy Channel, to hosting “The Worst Family Ever”, to opening for Kevin Pollak, to performing as the celebrity guest at Second City’s TIM sketch show, it is her blend of fearlessness, honesty, and vulnerability that makes Butera one of today’s most endearing and sought-after comedic performers.

Scott Whyte
In addition to voicing commercial ID’s for radio stations across the country, she recently voiced the Toyota Big Prius Event commercial on TV and radio. Butera is the voice of Alexis on Fox’s “Golan The Insatiable” and voices other animated characters including: Harvey Beaks on Nickelodeon, Turbo:FAST on Netflix, Dog With A Blog on the Disney Channel, Trip Tank on Comedy Central and King Star King on Adult Swim. She has narrated over 30 titles for Audible.com.

Whyte has built an impressive voiceover career through his extensive character voice work across radio and television, including a Disney animated series. He is also currently voicing multiple major video games. He has voiced the character of Homer Simpson for a popular video game.

Justin Case, Director of Programming and Imaging for Benztown said: “We are thrilled to make these quality character actors and highly versatile voices available to Benztown’s production customers. Rachel and Scott are two in a million talents, and they are incredible additions to our portfolio of the industry’s top VO professionals. Their spot-on celebrity impersonations and character voice work will provide great added value for stations and will help them create a distinctive and captivating sound for their station brands.”
