"I'm very thankful it didn't happen at night because it started in my son’s room. Right next to his bed so I'm just so thankful for that,” Lee Ann said.

Firefighters saved the family dog from the flames. Luckily no one else was home.

WSFA-TV12 reports the Camps have received a mass of support from neighbors, co-workers and their children’s school and parish.

“Oh, it's amazing. I couldn't tell you how many calls we've gotten and notes people trying to help us out,” Lee Ann said. “I have to say thank you to everyone that's been so kind."

Mobile Fire Rescue says there’s $35,000 in damage – mostly in the upstairs rooms where most of their clothes and belongings were stored.

St. Pius X Catholic School is collecting clothes for their daughter and son. According to the family, co-workers are also rounding up cash and check donations at 92ZEW.
