D/FW: Hondo New Host For Front Porch Show On The Wolf

Greg Robertson
Cumulus Media announces that Dallas-Fort Worth Country radio personality Greg “Hondo” Robertson has been named host of the long-running Front Porch Show on KPLX 99.5 FM The Wolf.

The show was previously hosted by Bill “Bowen” Phillips, who will continue to focus on his weekly night shift on The Wolf (7:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m., Monday-Friday). Robertson will host his first show on Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

The Front Porch Show is a weekly regional Country music program that has been a staple of DFW Country music listeners since The Wolf’s inception in the late 90’s. The two-hour show airs Sunday nights from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and features the most popular Texas Country, Red Dirt, and Americana titles. The Front Porch Show is packed with interviews of Texas Country stars, updates on live music, album releases, and much more.

Robertson is a familiar voice heard on DFW radio for more than a decade; most recently, as Public Affairs Director and Host of Impact Texas, the weekly public affairs program heard on Cumulus stations 99.5 The Wolf, New Country KSCS 96.3 FM, SportsRadio The Ticket 1310 AM/96.7 FM, DFW’s Top40 KLIF  Hot 93.3 FM, and N/t KLIF 570 AM.

J.R. Schumann, Operations Manager, Music Stations for Cumulus Dallas-Fort Worth said: “Hondo’s passion shines in everything he does, and I have no doubt, with his energy and enthusiasm, he’ll add a great new dimension to this much-loved Sunday night feature on 99.5 The Wolf. The Front Porch Show has its finger on the pulse of the Texas/Red Dirt music scene, and Hondo is a big part of that.”

Robertson said: “Joining the Wolf family and taking the reins of a show with the Front Porch Show’s history is a dream come true. I am excited to embark on this next chapter, and am grateful to Dan Bennett, Mike McVay and J.R. Schumann for the support they have shown over the years and the trust being put forth now. This is a great time to “Support. Texas. Country."
