Social media was abuzz yesterday over something  you wouldn't expect -- the news that it looks like Kermit the Frog has a new girlfriend, just weeks after breaking up with longtime love Miss Piggy.

People unveiled the first photos of Denise, who's also a pig, and is described as head of marketing at ABC, which will be airing the upcoming series The Muppets, a rebooted version of the old The Muppet Show.

People "reported" that Kermit's been spotted around town with Denise, and that's she's always stopping by the set of Up Late with Miss Piggy, Miss Piggy's late-night talk-show-within-a-show on The Muppets.

This soap opera-style love triangle is all promo for The Muppets, of course, which is debuting on September 22nd, but that isn't stopping people from loudly voicing their opinions about Kermit and Denise on social media.



For what it's worth, Kermit took to Twitter yesterday to deny that Denise is his girlfriend, saying they are just "close friends."

 As for Miss Piggy, she shoew-up in Liam Hemsworth's first Instagram posting. The Hunger Games star put up his first post on Monday sharing a photo of himself with Miss Piggy along with the caption, "Spent Friday with the most beautiful girl in the world. Kermit, #SorryNotSorry. #TheMuppets #misspiggy".

Liam acquired over 218,000 followers in his first 24 hours with an account.
