MD Radio: Dinah Gibson Now CoHosting Mornings At WFRE

iHeartMedia/Frederick MD has realuinched its Country WFRE 99.9 FM morning show.  “Tom Whalen And The New Free Country Wake Up Crew,” now features more of Dinah Gibson, who expands from her role as news anchor. She picks-up cohost duties from Dina Carole, who departed the station.

Gibson continues as Director/News for the  iHM cluster and continues her duties on Talk sister WFMD 930 AM. Also, weekend personality Katie Ryan joins WFRE’s “Wake Up Crew” and will now being doing  news and information segments while also providing traffic updates on WFMD.

PD Don Brake said, “Dianah has been working with Tom for several years and she wanted to step up and be a bigger part of the show. Adding Katie to the show will give it a youthful side that we have been missing. Katie joined us three years as an intern, later served on our street team and for more than a year did an outstanding job as a member of the weekend on air team."

All of these adjustments follow WFRE's summer air staff adjustments, which featured the return of Holly McCall (from WGTY Gettysburg, PA) to handle middays, Brake's switch to nights and Brian Mo and Dave Conrad joining for afternoons.
