Boston Radio: Report..Rush To End Up On iHM Station

Limbaugh Could Gallop to 1430 AM

Monday 6/15 4pm Update:  Premiere Radio Network today confirmed Rush has a new home in the Boston market..he;ll be moving up the the AM radio dial.  The move is effective June 29. More details Tuesday.

Indications are iHeartMedia is making plans to clear the Rush Limbaugh Show on one of its stations. Entercom's talk WRKO 680 AM has announced its intention to drop Rush, although no end date was announced.

When WRKO dropped that news, it looked like Rush could end up on crosstown Talker WMEX 1510 AM.  Hoever, maybe because of required investment, WMEX passed on the opportunity.

Last week, it looked as if Rush could end up on an pending Salem Media  acquisiotn.  Salem is buying Radio Disney's WMKI 1260 AM (for a reported $500K).  That apparently isn't going to happen either,

Now Radio Insight, is reporting the likely landing spot for Rush is iHM's WKOX 1430 AM.  It bases that conclusion on the domain talk1430.com being registered by iHM

WKOX (licensed to Everett, MA) is currently airing a Hispanic variety format.

WKOX 1430 AM (5 Kw-Da, 1 Kw-N)

If this happens Rush will be moving from a 50Kw facility with terrfic dial position, to a 5Kw-Da, 1Kw facility.  In any event Premiere Networks wpuld be able to clear market #10 for Limbaugh.
