Boston Radio: Herald Revamps Talk Line-Up

A new morning drive team, a cutting-edge afternoon show and live dispatches from a new City Hall broadcast center will combine to give Boston Herald Radio listeners even more dynamic news and talk than ever before — and it all starts today.

“Boston Herald Drive,” which airs from 7 to 9 a.m. weekdays, will update news, weather and traffic every 20 minutes. News anchor Matt Fitzgerald says it’s akin to putting the broadcast into 
“hyperdrive.”

John Sapochetti joins Adriana Cohen as co-host of “Boston Herald Drive.” Sapochetti will bring a more liberal point of view 
to mix it up with Cohen’s 
conservative take.

“I will bring a populist progressive feel to complex issues” said Sapochetti, who promises to deliver some good, old sensibilities from his native Somerville. “I know how to find a good sub,” he joked.

Boston Herald Radio Executive Producer Tom Shattuck sees the new morning pair as a natural fit. “There is a palpable, mutual respect,” he said. “This will not be two hours of pundit brow-beating. These are real people, and we are all about real on Herald Radio.”

Herald Fargo Street

Another major change in the lineup is “Fargo Street,” which airs from 1 to 4 p.m. weekdays. Hosted by Chris Villani and Tyler Sullivan and named for the address of the Herald’s Seaport District newsroom, the show is a three-hour conversation about current events, sports and entertainment.

“I love the chance to broaden all of our horizons a bit,” Villani said. “It is a big world 
and there are big conversations 
to have.”

Meanwhile, Shattuck will power up a multimedia center in the Herald’s City Hall Bureau to bring you live reports every day from high above City Hall Plaza.
