Orlando Radio: Paul McCartney Performs At Graduation Party

Paul McCartney sang a vintage Beatles song at a private party Saturday night in Florida May 9 celebrating the graduation of his stepson Arlen Shevell, son of wife Nancy Shevell, Josh Walther, leader of the band Josh Walther and the Phase5 who McCartney sang with on stage told Beatles Examiner May 10.

Walther called it the “thrill of a lifetime.”

He said the gig, which took place at Interlachen Country Club in Winter Park near Orlando, was arranged by Shevell herself.

“She called us about this event last year, but I didn't know who she was,” he said. “I didn't figure it out until about two weeks ago when she casually mentioned it on the phone.

He said Shevell and McCartney specifically picked Phase5 for the party. “They found us on the internet. Nancy said they searched for bands in the area and we were their first choice.”
