NYC Radio: 1010 WINS Dedicates Newsroom To Stan Brooks

CBS Radio's 1010 WINS/New York observed its 50th anniversary as an All News Station this week and among the numerous celebration was naming of the WINS newsroom in honor of the late Stan Brooks.

Brooks was the station's first News Director when it flipped formats a half-century ago. He went on to become one of the city’s most recognized and respected journalists for his years on the City Hall beat.

He died in 2013 at age 87.

In an interview. Stan rtecalled how 1010 WINS went from being a struggling top 40 station to being the nation's first successful all-news radio station.
