MA Radio: Brokered Host Off Air After Rape Allegations

A Framingham radio station announced Wednesday it will no longer air a show hosted by a Marlborough man charged earlier this week with raping two women.

In a statement, WSRO 650 AM GM Ilma Paixao announced that Jose Ilton Lisboa Santos' show, “Conexao Brazil,” will not air.

“The program is suspended due to allegations involving the program’s host, Mr. Ilton Lisboa, a holistic health practitioner and massage therapist, who purchased air time from our network to broadcast the program,’ the statement said. “The Rede Abr A Brasileira takes no position in relation to the allegations mentioned. The network has no further comments on this situation.”

Framingham Police arrested Santos, of Marlborough, on Saturday, according to MetroWest News. He posted $50,000 bail and pleaded not guilty. He is due back in court in June for a probable cause hearing.
