Do you get excited when your newest Instagram post gets 35 "likes"? If so, can you imagine getting hundreds of thousands of "likes"?

The Daily Mail reports new data shows that 92 percent of the 200 most-followed women on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media sites fit into one of five categories: singer, TV star, model, actress, or have a famous lover.

Most followers these individuals have (86%), are females age 20 and under.

It's a different story for men, though, with the top 200 most-followed including comedians, music producers, business figures, religious figures, authors, world leaders, sports stars, academics, and film directors.

Ladies seem to change the type of social media content they seek as they age, as the data shows that at age 34 they look for more diverse, content-heavy and feminist role models.

The top five most-followed women on social media are: Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Shakira, Ariana Grande and Beyonce. The top five most-followed men are: PewDiePie, Justin Bieber, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr. and Pitbull.
