Greater Media Launching Distracted Driving Awareness Initiative

Throughout the entire month of April, Greater Media stations and on-air personalities will participate in a multi-platform public service campaign aimed at promoting the importance of driver safety on the roadways in conjunction with the National Safety Council’s (NSC) Distracting Driving Awareness Month initiative.

Greater Media on-air personalities will be featured in customized public service messages that will be aimed at educating listeners to the importance of driver safety and stressing the importance of not using cell phones or texting while driving. In addition, the campaign will utilize social media to get the word out. According to the NSC, distracted driving, regardless if it’s hands-free or handheld, is a dangerous threat to roadway safety.

“As our industry grapples with the growth of the connected car there is no topic more vital than distracted driving,” said Greater Media Vice President of Program Development Buzz Knight. “The Greater Media platform of stations is committed to communicating to our audiences the importance of driver safety.”
