Rdio Reaches For The Dash

Rdio has announced an exclusive partnership with Bosch to integrate the best unlimited music subscription service into dashboards of vehicles internationally through the new Bosch mySPIN platform. The exclusive global partnership is the latest example of Rdio’s commitment to providing users around the world with access to the music they love whenever and wherever they choose to listen.

The partnership adds Rdio as Jaguar and Land Rover’s first in-car on-demand music streaming service on the InControl Apps platform. Users can safely interact with Rdio’s online and offline features through the vehicle’s infotainment system.

Through the Rdio app on InControl Apps, a groundbreaking technology that links smartphones to a vehicle’s infotainment system, drivers have access to Rdio’s more than 30 million tracks on-demand directly on their dashboards. Rdio’s award-winning user experience has been customized for InControl Apps, so drivers are now able to utilize Rdio’s familiar user-friendly navigation and features in the way they are accustomed.

“Rdio is committed to delivering the best streaming experience wherever our customers listen to music,” said Anthony Bay, CEO, Rdio. “Rdio on InControl Apps underscores our effort to simplify how people listen to music by providing them with the most convenient access to our massive catalog.”

As part of the initial rollout, Rdio is accessible to subscribers of the unlimited music service in Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles where InControl Apps is installed, and Rdio’s free Internet radio solution will be integrated later this year. Rdio on InControl Apps provides a safe way for drivers to easily access Rdio’s popular features including personalized radio, curated stations, search, albums, playlists and favorites.
