Louisville Radio: Sports 'The Ville 93.9 FM' Launches Thursday

ESPN Louisville and Louisville Sports Properties are partnering to produce a new radio station in Louisville, 93.9 The Ville on former Christian station WLCL 93.9 FM.

The new station will carry local programming, ESPN national programming and UofL sports broadcasts.

"We are thrilled to give listeners of ESPN Louisville two distinct products. ESPN 680 AM and 105.7 FM will continue to give listeners breaking news, strong sports opinions, thought provoking and entertaining sports talk they have come to love and expect from Bob Valvano, Jason Anderson and our national hosts," Drew Deener, Vice-President and Morning Show Host, said.

"On our new station, 93.9 The Ville, listeners will be able to hear the latest news and information on the hometown Louisville Cardinals. No one will cover U of L Athletics with more passion or access than we will. Sports Talk Radio is our passion, and we are passionate about being the best."

The station will officially launch on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 7 a.m. with the start of "The Deener Show" and will include guest appearances from Tom Jurich, Dr. Mark Lynn and others.

  1. Love the name, Love the show, Love the Station. The name, "The Ville" identifies who we are as a community, as a city and our fan base. The name brings back memories of the "80" National Championship Team, " The Doctors of Dunk", led by Dr. Dunkenstien himself Darrell Griffith. Keep it fresh and we'll keep listening! GO CARDS!!!
