Memphis Radio: Entercom Launches The Wolf On 94.1 FM


Entercom/Memphis has announced the launching of Country WKQK 94.1 FM The Wolf. The station was formerly airing Classic Hits.

Entercom is promising half the commercials of its country competitors with a maximum of six per hour.

The young country leaning station will be the third in the Memphis market, competing againt Cumulus' WQKX 105.9 FM Kix106 and Might Media's WEBL 95.3 FM The Rebel.

 PD Chris Michaels says that 94.1 The Wolf will be locally focused on "the music that country fans want." "We are excited to bring this great brand and the most new country to Memphis," he added.

"We are thrilled to introduce the highly successful Wolf brand to Memphis, there's a huge appetite for today's country music and we are proud to share this with Memphians." said VP/Market Manager Dan Barron. "94.1 The Wolf is the perfect complement to our local Entercom stations including 92.9 FM ESPN Radio, FM 100, 104.5 The River and ESPN 790AM."

  1. Glad to see a new country station in Memphis. Really though you should play older country music and you would have alot more listeners in my opinion.

    1. The wolf in memphis tennessee used to broadcast through 50 watts of power on 94.1 but the wolf has moved up the dial from 94.1 to 99.7 replacing FM 100. FM 100 was a hot adult contemperary formatted radio station that just went off the air in june 2023 and became 99.7 the wolf, a country music station. Now, the wolf is broadcasting using FM 100's 300,000 watt signal. Now 94.1 is broadcasting an adult contemperary christian music format as WMLE, under it's k-love name.
