After about 24 years working with Country KCLR 99.3 FM Clear 99, program director Teresa Davis died Thursday of kidney cancer.

She was 60, according to columbianmissourian.com.

Her death was announced Friday morning on the morning show "Scotty & Cara." Davis was a St. Louis native who moved to Columbia in 1990. She began working the night shift at the station as a host for the show Davis Dedications and in 1995 was promoted to Clear 99's program director. She left her position at the station in May of this year, according to a post written by Davis in April.

Davis had been battling cancer for roughly two weeks before it took her life late Thursday night, according to Scotty & Cara's morning radio show Friday. The station expressed its grief for Davis' passing on behalf of the Clear 99 radio team.

"I don't know who I will text during Cardinals games anymore, but she was ready to go, and she went peacefully, and she loved this radio station, and I don't know that anyone will be on this station for 24 years," said Aric Bremer, a Clear 99 radio personality.
