L-A Radio: DJ Skee Says He's Quitting Radio

DJ Skee, the 30-year-old radio personality (real name: Scott Keeney) announced in a video released Tuesday that he’s quitting radio, leaving behind 102.7 KIIS FM in L-A and SiriusXM Radio’s Hip-Hop Nation.

In the video announcement, DJ Skee explains that he came up loving radio, but grew tired of defending it against complaints about the commercials and lack of variety.

“Today six companies control 90 percent of the media airwaves, and I believe these corporations have sucked the life out of it,” DJ Skee states.

DJ Skee’s news comes from a place of passion rather than disillusionment. He explains that he refuses to compromise his ethics for the sake of satisfying the higher ups.
