Clovis NM Radio: Rooney & Moon Moving To Afternoons

Steve Rooney and Duffy Moon, hosts of the Mix Morning Show on KSMX 107.5 FM for more than a decade, will be retiring from morning radio, according to Rooney Moon Broadcasting Inc.

The final morning broadcast will be on Aug. 29. However, the pair will return to radio on Classic Hits KRMQ 101.5 FM,  for an afternoon show beginning Oct. 9.

According to the press release, Rooney and Moon began broadcasting the morning show on Sept. 23, 2002. During these 12 years, they have hosted the annual Secret Santa program, which provides gifts, Christmas trees and food to families in the listening area; and traveled to Iraq, Japan and Guam to visit local service members stationed in those countries.

The new Mix 107.5 morning show will be hosted by D.B. Nyce, with Amber Kaye as co-host. Casey Peacock will join from the news desk and Donald “Doc” Elder with sports.

Rooney and Moon are also owners of Rooney Moon Broadcasting Inc., as well as KSMX-FM, KRMQ-FM, KSEL-FM and KSEL-AM.
