Apple Appoints Ian Rogers To Manage iTunesRadio

Ian Rogers
Beats Music boss Ian Rogers will add iTunes Radio to his management portfolio, according to hypebot.com.

Rogers will report to Eddy Cue, Apple's SVP of Internet Software and Services. Each service - the Pandora-like iTunes Radio and paid-only subscription music service Beats  - will remain separate brands, at least for now.

Rogers joined Beats last year from artist marketing platform Topspin Media, where he was CEO. He was previously an exec at the now defunct Yahoo Music.

Reports of Rogers expanded role surfaced after Apple announced that it had finalized its $3 billion purchase of Beats. "Music has always held a special place in our hearts, and we’re thrilled to join forces with a group of people who love it as much as we do," read the release, emphasizing the importance of music to Apple's image, both in the past and future.

With all of the positive news, also came the inevitable reports of job cuts caused by rendudant positions with as many as 200 Beats staffers eventually being let go.
