NielsenAudio To Close Scarborough Call Center

Citing "business reasons," Scarborough Research has notified the State of Florida it will close its call center operations in Sarasota and lay off 220 employees by the end of September.

Scarborough Research was a joint venture between the Nielsen Co. and Arbitron Inc., until Nielsen acquired Arbitron in September 2013. Scarborough Research is now a part of the Nielsen Local Insight Suite.

Nielsen stated, "As part of the integration of Nielsen Audio, Nielsen has implemented changes across the company to enhance growth and to align our resources to meet and exceed client needs. These changes will improve productivity and innovation for the benefit of our clients and our organization."
