Farmer’s Almanac Predicts “Storm Bowl”

The Farmers' Almanac is hitting newsstands today (August 26th), and the 197-year-old publication is predicting a very cold upcoming winter.

The Almanac says two-thirds of the country will have a colder-than-normal winter, with heavy snowfall predicted from the Midwest, Great Lakes and New England.

And in news the NFL won't be happy to hear, the publication is also predicting that a winter storm will hit the Northeast around the time the Super Bowl will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The Almanac uses a secret formula unchanged since 1818 to make its predictions that involve planetary positions, sunspots and lunar cycles. It claims its forecasts are correct about 80 percent of the time.
