Benny Mardones Celeb DJ On Syracuse-Based Web Station

Benny Mardones will return to Central New York next month for a concert, but fans can now listen to him five days a week at Syracuse80s.com, the new online radio station launched last month.

According to Syracuse.com, The "Into the Night" singer has joined the Syracuse-based all-'80s Internet station as a celebrity DJ, hosting his own show from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Mardones started this past Monday and will continue every weekday afternoon until his Aug. 3 performance in Liverpool.

Syracuse80s.com program director Jim McGregor has been playing songs by Mardones and other hitmakers from the decade of New Wave and hair bands since launching June 14. The station can be streamed for free through any desktop computer, as well as through apps for Android, iPhone and iPad devices.
